Jazz & Hip Hop....This style of dance is fun and energetic!  It features a mixture of sharp and fluid movements, popping & locking and animated expression similar to dances seen on commercial video clips. These are fun, 'freestyle' type of classes. ​ Basic foundational elements of ballet are incorporated to enhance Jazz styles, and fitness and strength are highlighted for Hip Hop - making it an all round perfect class for everyone!

Modern, Lyrical, Contemporary Graceful, Elegant, Interpretive... ​ Modern dance is a style that centres more on the dancers interpretation of music and steps, using the dancers emotions to portray the "story" of the dance. Contemporary dance blends elements of multiple dance styles and lets dancers express emotionally through movements & breath. Ballet technique is central in this class to ensure these skills are built and strengthened.

Basic Movement, Deportment and Acting! ​ Let’s do BROADWAY! Steeped in jazz technique, this class is also aimed at giving your dancer a character they can depict, all to music. Think “Hairspray”, “Singing in the Rain” and “Grease”! ​ Your dancer will develop all important confidence and techniques in deportment as well as plenty of drama games and opportunities to bring out their inner “Drama Queen” (or King!)

One of Our Specialities! ​ Tap dancers use their tap shoes to use their feet like drums, creating amazing rhythmic patterns. It is a great class for encouraging coordination skills and can be quite vigorous, improving your fitness levels. Galaxy students have the option of completing examinations from the Glenn Wood Tap Syllabus.

Learn to take on another character, tell their story, and fall into a world where creativity and idea sharing is KEY! We have classes in Drama basics, as well as Musical Theatre Productions yearly.

Dance Cirque is a class that we know your kids will absolutely love. They get to climb, juggle & learn new tricks in a safe environment. Dance Cirque is for children over 5 years of age, great for boys and girls & you don't need to be a dancer to enjoy it. It not only involves an apparatus (silks, lyra, static trapeze) but also ground acts (juggling & hula hooping). Add in some basic acrobatics skills, its great for cognitive development, strength and flexibility and importantly - confidence.

Acrobatics Skills with a Dance Emphasis​ ​ The Acrobatic Dance Association syllabus is a progressive syllabus that takes students through all areas of acrobatic dance. The levels have been divided into basic, intermediate and advanced groups to assist teachers to design their own class structure and to prepare students for progressive development. Acrobatic skills assist the all-round development of performers & dancers; improving flexibility, strength, spatial awareness & confidence.

DanceStep is a 4 year student teacher program that guides students to be leaders and role models.  It covers assistant teaching skills such as behaviour management, different learning needs and styles, and anatomy to name a few.  The program empowers students to take care of others.  Each Step requires minimum 10 practical hours, with 20 hours encouraged.   Each Step is generally one year in duration.
